today crossing the street to school, my friggen bag was like half open at the top when i was crossing the street and this nice girl told me and i was like oh god xD
Well ive been bagging on myself the whole day about that and i don't know i keep swearing to myself whenever i think of that
this is just an example of something embarrassing that happened. But everytime i do get embarrassed i feel so ashamed and i just want to yell at myself. How to cope with embarrassment?
I too sometimes feel very embarrassed about things that I imagine the average person wouldn't think twice about. Even if the cause of the embarrassment is minor (to some), your bad feelings about it should not be ignored or shrugged off, and instead coping methods should indeed be searched.
One way of dealing with it, and to be honest, this works for me only sometimes, is reversing the situation: Think if you saw a person with an open bag. Would you think the person is foolish for leaving the bag open? Would you think he/she should be embarrassed? I bet not. Instead you might go up and offer some help yourself just to be nice. How to cope with embarrassment?
oh just laugh at it. dont be so uptight
Wow that's it?
Get over it by understanding that wasn't even an embarrassing moment.
I once....well let's just say I've gone through a stuff you wouldn't ever want to go through.
Very miserablely
Don't worry! It didn't hurt you, and that kind of thing happens to people all the time. It's an easy mistake, and you didn't hurt yourself or anyone else.
don't worry. Many people get embarrassed too. Just think that you're not alone. :)
Today, I went to the dmv to take my driving test and failed 5 minutes after getting into the car. I've been feeling ashamed and depressed this whole day. Talk about embarrassment. To answer your question, that feeling of being ashamed will go away tomorrow or soon. Just don't think about it.
